Also known as Kunzang Lama’i Shelung Zindri, or the Zindri for short,
A
Guide to The Words of My Perfect Teacher is a priceless treasure of
explanation, clarification and practical advice from the heart of the
great oral lineage of Dzogchen. It actually contains part of the
Dzogchen mengak, or ‘pith instruction’ of the great Dzogchen masters.
It was handed down by Patrul Rinpoche to his disciple Nyoshul Lungtok,
who then passed it on to Khenpo Ngawang Pelzang (also known as Khenpo
Ngakchung, 1879-1941). Khenpo Ngakchung, one of the most influential
Dzogchen masters of recent times, wrote this oral instruction down. It
offers further clarification to the explanation of the preliminary
practices given in The Words of My Perfect Teacher, and gives crucial
advice on how to practise the ngöndro. By offering chapter-by-chapter commentary on this renowned work, Khenpo
Pelzang provides a fresh perspective on the role of the teacher; the
stages of the path; the view of the Three Jewels; Madhyamika, the basis
of transcendent wisdom; and much more.
We
also study three other commentaries written by great Tibetan masters,
which are all included in the Rigpa publication :
- a Guide to the
Practice of Ngöndro
- the Brief Dudjom Tersar Ngöndro and
- the Longchen
Nyingtik Ngöndro with commentaries and guidance on how to practise them.
