You Are What You Think
2 audio CD

In October 1999, Sogyal Rinpoche visited many of his european centres. This double Rigpalink tape compiles the best excerpts of the teachings from Amsterdam, Hamburg, Mainz, and Zurich.

If we really want to apply the truth of the spiritual path to our lives, the most important advice for us to remember is to be in touch with ourselves. The Dhammapada, a collection of aphoristic sayings of the Buddha that illustrate how to lead a life in accord with the Buddhist path, says:

“We are what we think. All that we are rises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.”

This is why it’s so crucial to bring mind under control and transcend its conceptual limitations. We begin by using methods such as watching the breath to calm the mind. Ultimately, it is possible to reach the state of non-meditation, where there is no longer any need for practice. A practitioner who has achieved this state simply rests in the pure presence of the nature of mind.
