Finding the Spiritual Dimension of Death

High on the clifftops in South West Ireland is a retreat centre called Dzogchen Beara. Here, under the guidance of Sogyal Rinpoche, the wisdom and compassion of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings are being brought to the West, practiced and studied by the small community that lives and works here.
Jacqui, who has ALS (Motor Neuron Disease), her partner and daughter have come to Dzogchen Beara to rest, reflect and learn about the Tibetan Buddhist understanding of dying and death. Their trip coincides with a visit of Sogyal Rinpoche (author of the spiritual classic The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying) and they join a Spiritual Care Seminar receiving teachings from Rinpoche and advice and support from Christine Longaker.
The goal of the Spiritual Care Centre at Dzogchen Beara is to have a facility where those like Jacqui, with life threatening illness, may come for periods of rest and reflection and spiritual replenishment. The long-term aim is to have a place for people to come to as they end their lives. It is to help achieve this goal that Adventure Pictures have made this film.
